COVID update

We continue to be vigilant

Randex-Phoenix Private Ambulance Service continues to operate as normal, subject to additional health monitoring of both service users and staff. In accordance with current best practice, we all need to exercise especial care to prevent the spread of the disease. We are undertaking regular and frequent cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment and vehicle surfaces, as well as use of personal protective equipment (where appropriate) and thorough hand-washing/gel cleaning procedures, in order to minimise the risk of cross-infection to staff and service users.

All staff have received both initial and booster vaccinations.

Before we accept any new bookings, we may ask the person making the booking to certify that the service user is not exhibiting any symptoms of, or has been exposed to someone with COVID/such symptoms or tested positive within the past 2 weeks. Symptoms include a raised temperature, a persistent dry cough, and the loss of taste and/or smell.

We may also ask the same questions again at the point of pick-up.

If, between booking transport and the actual date for the transport, the service user – or any other person who is or who has (to the best your knowledge) been in close proximity to the service user – does develop symptoms, we ask you to let us know as soon as possible so that we can together make an informed and timely decision as to whether or not to proceed with the transport.

If we arrive at the pick-up address to undertake the transfer and find that the service user or anyone in contact with them has such symptoms and we have not been advised in advance, we reserve the right to abort the transfer for the protection of our staff and of third parties, and to levy a cancellation charge to cover the actual time and mileage incurred.
