Do you want to work with us?

We are currently looking for bank staff to join us in the role of non-emergency patient transport ambulance crew, to act as both ambulance driver and patient attendant on an ad hoc basis. Our business has to be highly reactive to our clients’ and customers’ demands: therefore, whilst we cannot give any guarantees about the amount of work available, work which is offered to our bank staff will often – though not always – be at short notice (i.e. next day or same day), to provide extra support and holiday cover for our permanent staff.

A given task may, for example, be a single job for 2 hours or a full shift for up to 10 hours; and the work may be local or long-distance. Work hours typically fall between 8.00am-8.00pm, mainly Monday to Friday but with occasional weekend work. We recognise that you will not always be in a position to accept work offered to you by us.

Because of the nature of the work, it is likely that successful candidates will live within a maximum of 30 minutes travel of Warwick.

The hourly rate of pay will start at a minimum of £8.50/hour, according to experience, plus holiday pro rata.

We think this type of work is likely to suit someone who is early-retired but wants to continue to do occasional work, or someone who has a part-time job elsewhere but who can offer us a regular day or days of the week. But it could also suit people in other situations, so we’re happy to be open-minded about this.

Experience of non-emergency patient transport will be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be available for the right candidate, including first aid, people moving and handling, and safeguarding. The most important criteria are empathy, professionalism, reliability, physical fitness and good driving skills.

All employed staff will be required to successfully complete an enhanced DBS check; and a driving licence check will also be conducted as part of the recruitment process.

Because of insurance restrictions, we regret that applications from people under 25 or with less than 2 years driving experience cannot be considered.

To apply for a position as Bank PTS driver/patient attendant, please submit your CV or send a short summary of your experience and why you think you have the right skills for this work to:
